Nicholas the Responsible

Nicholas, who is 10 years old, rides the bus home with his brother Matthew, 5 years old and just in kindergarten. Matthew follows him around like a shadow, as all younger siblings do. Usually Nicholas is pretty good, but of course, there are times when he can be pretty upset with his little brother. This can be compounded by the fact that Nicholas goes to Matthew's classroom everyday to get him ready to wait for the ride home.

This past Friday, Nicholas rode the bus home with a friend, so Matthew had to get picked up on his own for the first time. Yvonne went early so he wouldn't have to wait in the line, but the first thing Nicholas did when he got off the bus at his friends house was to call home and make sure Matthew was okay.
